YogFest 2015, Expanding Yoga in The Community

The mission of YogFest 2015 to expand yoga in the community has been accomplished. Hundred of yogis gathered together at Taman Menteng to enjoy various classes from reputable Indonesian and International yoga teachers in Indonesia.

For three wonderful days, the YogFest Committee, lead by the festival founder, Yuddhi Widdyantoro and his amazing team, Lili, Akhlis, Dandi, Santi and volunteers were working hard to realize this unique festival.

No heavy rain for this year, unlike last year some classes were held when the rain was pouring. The venue is very accessible to all participants and partners. The yoga faculties line up represents the diversities of yoga community and styles in Jakarta.

Deera Dewi's class was packed with around 90s yogis. Yogis love her not only for her hairstyle, but her warm-hearted soul and the challenging sequences. Anjasmara was also there to teach and inspired people to love yoga.

Pudjiastuti Sindhu, the founder of Yoga Leaf Bandung taught a very vibrant and warm class. There was a long line up of yogis who were waiting for Fank Andreas Sparsa Class, Martin Elianto’s  Ashtanga class, and Dini Maharani’s Vinyasa class of intro to handstand. She was joking; “you already do the handstand with Padahastasana.”

The festival also presented The Gentle Birth Community and Kids yoga by Tina Maladi.

It has been a pleasure to witnessing the growth of yoga community in Jakarta. Everybody can do yoga. YogFest, affordable ticket price, amazing line up of teachers, friendly crew, nice bazaar, clean and spacious venue, free bananas ... what else, yogis? This is perfect.

Thank you so much for bringing YogFest to our community.
